I spent alot of time in Arecibo about 4 years ago with my family I am half Puerto Rican. My faily owns several houses along the beach on the other side of that light house. We are the Otero family if anyone wants to look us up. I really miss it there waking up every morning looking at the sand the beach and watching big cruz ships come in every morning in the distance it was a beutiful sight. And also seeing the light house everyday was really cool. did they finish the big bridge that has all of the flags on that was near Arecibo if anyone knows hit me up CunninghamBrock@JohnDeere.Com

Soy arecibeño de el barrio Islote, naci y me crie alli hasta mis 17 años de edad. hoy vivo en USA pero mi corazon se quedo frente al mar en mi viejo San Juan, algun un dia bolbere a buscar mi querer, a soñar otra vez en mi hermoza isla de el encanto.

Jaime Morales, it is very possible that we know each other. I was also born in 54 in Arecibo, and attended the same high school. I left Arecibo at 16 and moved to NYC. However, since 1999 I have been in NJ.
I was also born in Islote, my family moved to California in 1950, Parents use to visit,the island often, sad to say they have both passed away here in California, so i will be here also, but iam 100% Puertoriquena pa que lo sepan. The picture of the lighthouse is beautiful. and nostalgic

Yo naci en Arecibo,me crie en Bajadero. Aunque llevo muchos anos en los E.U., No me olvido de mi pueblo natal y mi Jente que me forjaron cuando me crie,Su tierra que me acarricio y sus Aguas que me refrescaron. Este El Farol de Arecibo,cuando yo era un nino en camino a hombre, estava en los Boys Scouts, creo la tropa 465 de Bajadero antes la 119 de Arecibo. Era uno de los lugares donde en cambio de mantenimiento acampabamos.

I'm proud to be Puerto Rican. Was born in Miami,FL and rise in NY.But lived in PR from the ages of 18 to 21. That's where I really learn about our culture and music. But what I don't understand how people who where born in PR, think that Puerto Rico should stay the way it is. These are people that left the island for the USA and are retired and don't even go back after retiring but would like for PR to stay the way it is and don't agree on statehood. Nothing will ever change my culture. Culture is something that can never be lost. I love your picture I'm thinking of making a painting. I do oil and acrylic painting. I lived in Camuy, that's my Mother was from, my dad is from Utuado.

Saludos a todos! Yo e visitado el parque en dos ocasiones y una de ellas con mi hija Xiomara D. Morales, somos de Aguadilla y laimpresion que no causo fue favulosa, sobretodo la cueva del pirata y todas sus areas. Tengo planes de volver a visitar el lugar nuevamente con mi nueva familia que estan deseosos de ir a ver las fasilidades y sera lo mas pronto posible si Dios nos lo permite. Les exorto a todos que visiten el lugar, no se van a arrepentir.
