The pictures have great quality and are easy to find. They could use captions, though.

Joesephine - thank you for the compliments. As for captions, the list in the left column which names each picture is already available. Captions become less of an issue when you realize the point of the photos we offer are for aesthetic desktop images and not a history lesson. Plus, if you click the "Description" link at the top of each image page, there is usually some comments by the author as to what the photos are.
Good picture, indeed. My comment is about the horizon line. If it was at a lower position, the picture would have less asphalt and more sky, which I think would be better.

Virgil - thanks.
I can answer about the composition. First, at the time, I wasn't thinking "desktop wallpaper" when I shot it. Secondly, even though I shot this several years ago, I remember wishing for a way to minimize the amount of road in the foreground. The problem was, this was my only day in Victoria and the weather was cruddy. Completely overcast. If there had been blue and sunny skies, I most certainly would have tilted the camera up a bit.
I tell you what I could do, though, but I won't take the time unless you'd really like to have it. Since the upper part is just washed out sky, I bet I could slide the photo down and airbrush in the subtle cloud nuances back into the top of the picture. In fact, I might can even do a complete sky replacement. If you'd like me to give this a try, send me an e-mail address so I can send it to you—lbennett at atpm.com
Good picture, I recognised it immediately when I saw it, I'm from England but I often visit Vancouver Island. It probably would have looked a lot better if you waited until a sunny day, however.
