am a year 14 student at St. Patrick's Academy. I am studying art for one of my A- levels. As a result I have to complete a dissertation on a topic of my choice. I decided to examine stone sculptures based on the human figure. I am looking at cathedrals in Ireland and have seen some of the sculptures on Jerpoint Abbey. I was wondering if it was possible for you to send me some information on these various stone sculptures. It would be great if you could tell me how they originated and who carved them. I would also like to know why they were carved in these ways and what purpose they had. I would appreciate if I found out which tools the carvers used as well. The aim of my essay is to inform people about these stone sculptures, therefore I would be very grateful if you could send me an e-mail on any information you have regarding Jerpoint Abbey and the sculptures.
Thank you,
Raymond Mc Bennett

What a beautiful place. I hope it stands the test of time and remains immortal in its splender and majesty.
