Guys if you think this is a wonderful beach you should come over and explore for yourself, cause this is just an extreme little piece of Puerto Rico.

This beach is call la posa, My mom use to live close by from it and I use to walk to to it. Surfing is awesome there too.
Lee Bennett (ATPM Staff) · September 19, 2006 - 09:27 EST #23
Jaime - La Posa? I'd have to take your word for it, but I"m not sure. Google Earth says it's Jarealito, but maybe that's the town along-side it.

Here's a Google Maps link showing exactly where the beach is at. If you find this same place in Google Earth, you'll see the Jarealito marker just to the west of this spot. Maybe someone from there can definitively answer.
Tania · November 2, 2006 - 14:11 EST #24

I've been to this exact beach! It's as gorgeous as it is in this picture! The rocks in the bottom left corner are huge, and the water rushing upon it is beautiful! This is a wonderful picture of God's beautiful creation!

ps- i believe this was taken from the top of the arecibo lighthouse...
Lee Bennett (ATPM Staff) · November 6, 2006 - 09:23 EST #28
Alissa - yes I did take it from up on the Arecibo Light.
judith howard · November 7, 2006 - 00:22 EST #29

La Posa del obispo, is the name of beach there the barrio of jarealito islote. WOW bring back memories, my cousin lezcano push me into the dip waters and save me from drowning after he realize that I did not know how to swim in 1979 .love you Arecibo and thank you god for another day of life.
Lennoxa Higgins · June 14, 2008 - 17:16 EST #37
Does anyone have info on a tidal pool at this La Posa beach? We'll be going back to PR in July.
Jennifer Robles · November 6, 2008 - 19:39 EST #38

Dominica · August 29, 2009 - 19:19 EST #42
That shot looks like it was taken from the Arecibo Lighthouse. I took the same shot! It's a gorgeous place. Puerto Rico is truly La Isla del Encanto.
Lee Bennett (ATPM Staff) · August 29, 2009 - 19:20 EST #43
Dominica - you are correct. The lighthouse is directly behind where I was standing when I took this photo.
bert · November 1, 2010 - 06:15 EST #44
im from miraflores which is like ten minutes from there and thats a beautiful beach by the way it is called la posa.
Eduardo · January 13, 2012 - 07:21 EST #45
This is the beach at my home town Arecibo. It only took me like 7 minutes to get there. La posa is the one where the little bohios are and caza y pesca y the one to the far end of the beach. I just got back from there and it was nice.
