You should have captured a picture of the whole Capitol Building including the House and Senate buildings.

Patricia - have you ever been to Washington, D.C.? It's actually pretty difficult to get a good picture of the entire building due to trees and other obstacles, unless you're able to get some height on your shooting location. I actually did get a full image of the entire Capitol building from the top of the Washington Monument. I didn't choose to include it in this wallpaper series because I didn't feel it turned out very well. The day I visited was horribly overcast. This is apparent even in the photo on this page, but since I was closer, the image was clearer. My picture from the top of the Washington Monument is hazy. Nevertheless, if you (or anyone else) e-mails me directly, I'd be happy to send a copy of it to you. Just lend me a hand by referencing the picture named DSCN0555 so I can find it again.
Patricia, I can understand what you mean of how hard it can be to get a good picture. Right now I'm working on a project in school on the capitol building. This picture gives more detail than the other one I have. I think I'll use it.
I lived in Alexandria, VA for 10 years and what memories this picture brings back - what wonderful concerts I listened to while sitting on the steps of this glorious building!
Hey i like the picture alot. I also realize how dreadful pictures can look when they are taken on overcast days. Im 14 and i live in North Carolina. My mom lives in Switzerland and when i went to visit her i took some great pictures but i took them on overcasted days and they didnt look near as well as i thought they would. I went to Geneva which has some of the nicest buildings i have seen. Like the UN head quarters and the GATT, Red Cross HQ and so forth. And the Jet d'Eau (worlds tallist fountain).
