Hey. My name is Nicole Dilworth and I love coming on the internet just to look up all the pictures. My mom and family always want to go there for vacation, it's just that we don't have the money and my birthday is coming up and they want it to be special because I'm turning 12 years old. I was watching Mary-Kate and Ashley's new movie "Holiday in the Sun" and I saw the motel and I just fell in love right when i saw it. I told my mom I want to go there for my birthday but she said that we don't have the money and I just started to cry. This is my dreamland. If I had one place to go in my whole life I would pick here because it is so nice and beautiful and I love swimming with the dolphins. I wish I had a Ski-Doo but we dont have the money. I've been to the Bahamas and these photos don't come close to doing it justice. The Bahamas are majestical, euphoric, and beautiful. In other words, "majephoriful." San Salvador is where I visited. It's a wonderfully primitive island. I strongly recommend this island; it hasn't yet been jaded by tourism and commercialism.

Really cool pictures of the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. I've been to Atlantis about five times. My family and I just can't get enough of it. Oh, and to the one who said these were pictures of the Sol Kerzner hotel, no, these are pictures of the Royal Tower at the Atlantis Resort.

Hey you guys. I am a Bahamian. I live in Nassau. The Bahamas really is a cool place and I love living there, except it gets REALLY hot sometimes, although you tourists from cold places probably like that. Hah. So anyway, the pictures above are off the chains! That means they are cool. However, I think that all you guys who want to come here really should. I guarantee that you will enjoy it and want to keep coming back. It truly is an experience. If you go to Nassau, which is the most populated island in the Bahamas, then Grand Bahama, I can recommend a few things to do that you'll most likely love. Do the Dolphin Experience, go to the hotel Atlantis even if you don't stay in it (it's really expensive), and go to our Straw Market downtown. You can get your hair braided (guys too) and find some 'fwesh' (that means awesome) stuff to take back with you as souvenirs. Hope I helped a bit. If you have any questions or anything, my e-mail is given. :) :D :P

(I never realized how many people do projects on the Bahamas! Wow!)

Wow! Your pictures are gorgeous. I went to the Bahamas last year and it was wonderful. There is TONS of stuff to do there (many water activities. Many of my friends who went there told me it wasn't fun at all, but if you really want to go, take my advice--go on a cruise! You'll love it. I hope anyone who is deciding to go there will have a wonderful time.

I went to the Bahamas a while ago and I will never forget it. The people were amazing. We went to Salt Cay and it was so beautiful. Someday I will go back and, next time, I won't go with my mom. I was too young then to go by myself. I got my hair braided in the capital--Nassau I think. The lady did 158 braids and it only took her an hour and 10 minutes. I was amazed. I met a lot of interesting people. I would recommend that anyone should go there.

I loved all the pictures, but they are not what I needed. I needed pictures of the islands--not so much of the hotel you visited. Everyone says, "oh, how beautiful. I want to visit the Bahamas. They are beautiful!" But they really haven't seen anything, yet. These are only pictures of hotels. All the hotels are pretty and beautiful, but wait 'til you see the island. That's what I was looking for. For now, I have no clue what the islands look like because I only saw the hotel. Some people, like Nicole Dilworth (entry from January 24, 2002), don't have enough money to go there and want to brag about how unfortunate she is. That is NOT cool. That looks stupid.

I am a Bahamian studying in Canada, and I would not want to live anywhere else. The Bahamas is blessed with great weather, natural beauty, and wonderful people. Yeah we are expensive, but you get your money's worth. To Jessica Lowe, the The Bahamas is all it is cracked up to be. Every country has its positives and negatives, and the Bahamas is no different. You don't do your birthplace any justice by downing it.

All i can say is Atlantis offers you more than your average hotel or even resort.The whole point of my trip was just to play blackjack and craps but as soon as I arrived I quickly found out that pictures cannot even describe the resort.I stayed in the coral towers which offers a magnificent lounge downstairs which is just a short walk past the shops to the casino.The beach is beautiful and so are the women.I will be going back this coming July once agian to repeat this incredible adventure.

I live in the Bahamas and while Atlantis is a very nice and prestigious resort, it comes no where near to being what the Bahamas is really about. If you want to show pictures of the Bahamas, Bahamian culture should be shown. The out-islands are also a big part of the spirit and essence that is the Bahamas. Big flashy hotels are not the only thing that should be shown on this site, while it is tantilizing to the imagination of persons who do not live the in the Bahamas, being a local, I can tell you that what should really be shown is unpopulated "virgin" beaches. That is a real vacation, and at least one of the out-islands should be visited while vacationing in the Bahamas, even if it is just for a day or two, and the rest of the time is spent in big hotels.

I've lived in the Bahamas for a quarter of a century, and can tell you that if Paradise exists.....it must be here. The real Bahamas is not what the tourists see, it's the unspoiled virgin beaches, the genuine, friendly Bahamian people who adhere to a simple life.

The sheer beauty of all the islands takes your breath away. The rural life on the out-islands where they still bake home-made bread every day, and live off the land ans sea. It's a place where there has never been civil war, a place where there is no apartheid, and an economy that is stable. There is a sophistication here that could match any European city, because of the close proximity to the United States, and the ties to Britain. The Bahamas is a financial centre for the Caribbean region, with over 300 offshore banks. I would urge anyone to come here, and see this beautiful gem for yourselves, and experience the unique culture of the Bahamas.

The pictures you see above are of a resort, called Atlantis. It is entirely man made, and does not reflect very much in the way of the beauty that is natural to the Bahamas. While Atlantis is a must-see adventure that is awesome for its grandeur, beauty,and breathtaking lagoons and underwater aquatic marvels, may I suggest to the students who do reports on the Bahamas to look elsewhere for ADDITIONAL, naturally occuring beauty that abounds in the fabulous islands of the Bahamas. Don't forget the native folks in your reports,their colorful history, as they are truly wonderful hosts to the many visitors who frequent their many islands. Atlantis is one small spark off of one of the Atlantic oceans' jewels, the islands of the Bahamas.

These pictures are gorgeous!... Try visiting Grand Bahama, Harbour Island, Abaco, Bimini and post some lovely pictures of the beaches there. Do you know what is beautiful.... Sweetings Cay! Its just off shore of Grand Bahama! Especially when the tide is low, when looking and the water... seeing the sun glow on it and being able to walk on the pure sand is an awesome experience. Nassau is the Party Island....in Honesty you would enjoy a fun ... freaky time there..., has more clubs and etc. But if you wish to relax and unwind, Grand Bahama is exactly where you should be going. The water is so clear makes you want to jump with overwhelming shock at how beautiful it is! Awesome!... if your wondering... yep! I live here! lol

Some facts for those doing projects:

1. Atlantis is the hotel
2. Paradise Island, formerly known as Hog Island really is just a Cay, off the island of New Providence.
They are conveniently connected by two bridges.

3. Nassau is the city of New Providence, the island, which is only one of 700 islands and Cays which all make up THE BAHAMA ISLANDS (THE BAHAMAS).

4. Bahamas is short for The Bahama Islands.
5. While all the rave is about Atlantis, it is only a minute part of The Bahamas.

REVIEW FOR THE VIEWERS AND RESEARCHERS
Nassau is not the island; Atlantis is not the island, just the hotel, which covers most of the cay, known as Paradise Island.

I love the Bahamas, but all of you who continue to talk about the Atlantis it is a great place but there is much more to the bahamas before atlantis came along, we have soooooooooooo many more islands reefs and cays that are breath taking, differnt sites that one can see, like the queen's stair case, all of the forts ext. I think that Abaco is one of the most bueatiful islands in the bahamas especially treasure cay, the sand is like touching sugar and the sea is like none i have seen. The whole bahamas for that matter is great.The one thing that i can say is that God had to favour us in such a way that we can never explain just looking at this islands in it's self is unexplainable. I think God went on a super rest when he created these islands and cays!!! forever love the bahamas, forever bahamian!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to Atlantis 2 years ago. The place is absolutely awesome. You may thing its crowded there but its really not. The resort is so big that there is PLENTY of room for everyone. A must see, beautiful experience!

No, I am not from the Bahamas. ATPM staff are a world-wide group of volunteers who love Macintosh computing. Our monthly desktop wallpaper images (including this Bahamas set) is just a small part of what our publication is about. (For what little it's worth, I personally happen to be in Florida.)
