Wow! What type of camera are you using? I'm looking through your pictures and the focus is astounding! I am looking to be a photographer and I am currently shopping around for a camera... Yours is perfect for what I want to do..
Mellisa - without doing some digging, I don't have immediate access to the photographer's (Mark Montgomery) e-mail address, and I don't imagine he's notified of comments to this page.
However, it appears the EXIF information for his digital camera is still embedded in this photo. I downloaded it and took a look, and it's reported as being a Canon EOS 10D. It was taken at 1/4000 of a second at f5.6 and a focal length of 28mm. Bear in mind, digital cameras have about a 1.5x conversion factor, so 28mm is roughly 42mm in terms of a standard 35mm film camera. Also keep in mind that a splendid camera is not all that's needed to accomplish shots like this one. Much of it has to do with the skill of the photographer as well. But yes, having good equipment definitely helps! Oh, and also note that not all the pictures in this month's series were taken with an EOS 10D. I didn't check every photo, but at least one other one was taken with a Canon PowerShot.
This is Outstanding photography. I'm amazed on how detailed every feature is. And like the ones before me I would really like to reach this level of photography myself on day
